A casual summer party—and you're invited

Cocktails on the Canal to be held July 19

---

Grace Mercurio

Enjoy live music, cold beer, light fare, and delectable wine on Friday, July 19, at the fourth annual Cocktails on the Canal.

The Cocktails on the Canal evening is a great night for people in Brightwaters and all along the South Shore to gather for a casual summer party at the Head of the Canal at Ackerson Plaza in Brightwaters.

The Village of Brightwaters invites you to join in on the fun from 6 to 9 p.m., as all ticket proceeds from the event will go to the Brightwaters Beautification Fund to protect the scenic features of the village.

The event was originally started as a means to raise money to revitalize the village’s gazebos, and the funds raised allowed the Village of Brightwaters to preserve the very gazebos where the event takes place, at the Head of the Canal. The money raised from future Cocktails on the Canal events will fund continuous beautification projects around the village, to preserve the beauty and splendor of Brightwaters.

“Recently, the village has formed a very active Garden club that has done a great job beautifying the village,” shared mayor of Brightwaters, John Valdini. “The funds that we raise at the event now go for things like plants, hanging baskets, and flowers throughout the village. The group is looking to improve the village in other ways and these funds will help support that.”

The exciting annual event typically attracts about 300 attendees and is open to both residents and non-residents. Tickets can be purchased at the Village Hall, located at 40 Seneca Drive, Brightwaters, costing $70 per person in advance, or $80 per person at the cocktail party door. Alternatively, a $750 event sponsor reserves a table for 10 guests.
