Islip animals look for fur-ever homes
Adoption event runs through August
---
Grace Mercurio
As August begins, Long Islanders continue to enjoy their favorite summer activities, like hosting backyard barbecues, lounging by the pool, boating on the Great South Bay, or curling up with a good book. While these summer days may seem perfect, they can be even better with a furry companion by your side.
Throughout the month of August, the Islip Town Animal Shelter and Adopt-a-Pet Center join NBCUniversal, Telemundo, and Hills to present the ninth annual Clear the Shelters adoption event. With so many animals at the shelter still awaiting their forever homes, adoption fees will be reduced throughout the month.
The Islip Town Animal Shelter and Adopt-a-Pet Center encourage you to come visit and meet the many lovable animals currently residing at their center, including dogs, cats, rabbits, hamsters, and more. For August only, the discounted adoption fee will be $50 for cats, $56 for dogs, and varies for other pets.
The shelter is open Monday to Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Come down to the Islip Town Animal Shelter and Adopt-a-Pet Center and meet your new best friend!
