Prom on Main!
Pat-Med hosts its annual prom al-fresco

The graduating Class of 2023 danced the night away at their prom on Tuesday, June 13.
Students began the night at Veterans Park in Medford with mocktails and a candy truck at 5 p.m., before loading buses to Main Street in Patchogue Village, which was transformed into the ultimate prom venue.
Accompanied by a fire truck escort, the students arrived in style as they walked a red carpet leading them from their buses to Main Street, perfectly fitting the prom’s “Old Hollywood” theme. Prom attendees were greeted by their family and friends, who lined the red carpet to capture the students’ red-carpet debuts. Sporting corsages, dresses, suits and ties, the seniors certainly dressed to impress!
Main Street was equipped with all the makings of a perfect celebration of the graduating class. Games like cornhole were set up for students, as well as a dance floor and DJ booth located in front of the Patchogue Theatre for the Performing Arts.
Throughout the night, it was clear the Patchogue community rallied together to show their pride and felicitations toward the graduating class. Multiple restaurants between Maple and Ocean avenues—the section of Main Street designated for prom—catered the event. Restaurants such as Del Fuego, Gallo, Tap Room, and Bobbique catered dinner from tents lining the street.
Other businesses also showed pride for the town’s graduating class. The Patchogue-Medford Library displayed the names of all the graduating seniors on the front window of the building. The Patchogue Theatre for the Performing Arts displayed a “congratulations” message on the marquee from teacher advisors Mr. Eterno and Ms. Turner, who helped the senior officers and executive board plan the prom.
As students look forward to their graduation, which will be held on June 22 at 7 p.m., the prom allowed seniors the perfect commencement of their high school careers, before they receive their diplomas.
